Where do the SlimSet review numbers come from?

They come from the distributor's own summary of its own product. The seller prints a score of 4.5 out of 5, 643 written reviews, 5,809 orders and a 90 per cent recommend rate. No outside review platform shows the raw submissions, and this website did not contact any named buyer.

What are the 5 steps for reading SlimSet reviews?

1. Step 1: Find out who counted

   A number is only as good as the hand that counted it. Here the counter is the seller. That does not make the figures false, but it does mean nobody outside has checked them. Read every figure as a description of how the seller sees its customers, and treat anything stronger as unproven.

3. Step 3: Read the low and middle stars first

   Five per cent of the split sits at two stars or one. On 643 reviews that is about 32 people. Among the named buyers, one three-star entry reads: “Wanted a faster change. Called +1 (302) 200-3480. Stopped at two.” It is the most useful line on the roster, because it shows a buyer using the phone route. It also argues for starting small.

4. Step 4: Match the timing to the label

   Five of the eight named entries say a version of “Fair at a month. Wanted more in week one.” That fits the label.
